Fly away,
Dear friend,
Fly away.
You’ve been homeward bound
Ever since you entered this world.
You blessed us with your presence.
You showed us laughter
And love
And tenderness.
Thank God for sending
You on this journey.
We asked for a gentle passage
Into His loving arms.
And, now you are home.
We’ll all be along in a little while.
Keep watching for us
Because we look
Forward to the day
That we, too,
Will fly away,
Dear friend,
Fly away home.
