| Jesus died on the cross and was wrapped in a shroud and placed in a tomb for three days. On the third day, He rose from the dead in accordance with the scripture and is seated at the right of the Father. All who come to believe in Him will have everlasting life. Jesus is represented in the center of this work. The tassles in the center of the painting remind us of His being separated from God the Father while He suffered death on the cross. A reminder to us that God the Father couldn't look upon our sins which were being carried by Jesus. Jesus was totally alone when He bore the sins of the world. However, the second set of tassles remind us that Jesus overcame sin and death and rose from the tomb triumphant. It is because of His sacrifice that we, too, share in salvation and everlasting life with Him. |
